Products

The battery is one of the main components of a vehicle’s electrical system and plays an important role in the proper operation of its various parts. Its most important function is supplying the high current needed to crank and start the engine. When the engine is off, it also powers electrical equipment such as lights, the audio system, the alarm, the ECU and other electrical loads. After the engine starts, the alternator generates electricity and charges the battery. The battery also stabilises system voltage to protect sensitive electronic components. When the vehicle’s electricity consumption rises momentarily, such as when the air conditioner, lights and audio system operate simultaneously, the battery serves as a backup source and supplies part of the required power to maintain stable vehicle operation.

Yes. Sepahan Battery’s Orbital, Suzuki and Atomic automotive batteries are designed and manufactured using current technologies and advanced quality standards to deliver stable, reliable performance in different climates, including hot and temperate conditions.

Battery capacity indicates how much electrical charge a battery can store. The higher the number, the more electricity it stores.

Capacity is one of the most important criteria when choosing a car battery and must match the vehicle’s technical specifications and electrical needs. A battery with the standard capacity not only supplies the required electricity but also helps extend battery life and improve electrical system performance. Sepahan Battery manufactures products in a wide range of capacities to meet the needs of different vehicles.

Sepahan Battery offers a diverse product range:

– Light vehicles: 18–80 Ah

– Medium-duty vehicles: 84–120 Ah

– Heavy-duty vehicles: 130–240 Ah

To ensure the right choice, we recommend visiting 09690.ir or calling 09690 for expert guidance on selecting the right battery for your car.

The main causes of premature car battery failure are:

Leaving the lights on:

Leaving lights on, especially headlights, quickly drains the car battery. Installing fog lights or additional lights can also put considerable strain on the battery and shorten its life. If the engine is off, switch off the lights before restarting it, because starting with the lights on places heavy stress on the battery.

Using electrical equipment while the engine is off:

If you use the radio, audio system or other electrical equipment with the ignition on but the engine off, be aware that this causes the car battery to discharge quickly.

Extreme heat and cold and their effects on the car battery:

As the temperature of the battery’s operating environment increases, its service life decreases. Cold weather, meanwhile, slows its electrochemical activity and sharply reduces starting power.

Continuous use of air conditioning in traffic and low alternator speed:

In traffic and at low engine speeds, the alternator’s ability to supply electrical power decreases. When loads such as ventilation and air conditioning are running, part of the required current therefore comes from the battery. Conventional car batteries are starter batteries and are not designed for frequent deep discharge. Repeated exposure to these conditions can reduce effective charge, increase plate sulfation and ultimately reduce capacity and service life. Simultaneously operating heavy electrical loads at low engine speeds, especially in urban traffic and hot weather, can therefore put substantial strain on the vehicle’s electrical system.

Malfunctions in the vehicle’s electrical system:

Major electrical system faults include alternator failure, voltage regulator failure and starter motor failure, all of which can shorten battery life.

Severe vehicle vibration:

Continuous vehicle vibration is one factor that shortens battery life. Strong vibration from rough roads or failure to secure the battery with the proper clamps can loosen it, resulting in mechanical stress and damage to its plates and internal connections. This damage reduces battery performance and shortens its useful life.

A battery that does not match the vehicle:

Using a battery with an unsuitable capacity can affect the electrical system’s performance. Vehicle manufacturers specify a minimum permissible battery capacity based on each vehicle’s electrical needs. When replacing the battery or installing additional electrical or audio equipment, choose a suitable battery according to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations and the advice of an automotive electrical specialist.

Leaving the car battery unused for a long period:

When a vehicle is not used for a long period, its battery gradually discharges through self-discharge and continuous loads such as the ECU or alarm system. Remaining at a low state of charge for a long time can cause plate sulfation, reduce actual capacity and shorten the battery’s useful life.

Before replacing the battery, switch off the vehicle and clean the positive and negative terminals. Check the cables, clamps and connections for corrosion, sulfate deposits or damage. Loose or corroded connections can cause starting or charging problems. Also ensure that the new battery’s specifications meet the vehicle’s requirements.
Step 1: Disconnect the negative cable. Using a suitable wrench, first loosen the negative (−) cable, which is connected to the chassis, and remove it from the negative terminal. This reduces the risk of an accidental short circuit.
Step 2: Disconnect the positive cable after the negative cable. Loosen the positive (+) cable clamp and remove it from the battery terminal.
Step 3: Remove the hold-down clamp. Use a suitable tool to loosen the clamp or bracket securing the battery in place. Take care not to damage the battery tray or nearby components.
Step 4: Remove the battery after releasing the hold-down clamp. Carefully lift the battery out, keeping it upright. Avoid impacts or tipping it over.
Step 5: Prepare the installation area and battery tray. Clean the clamps and cable terminals, removing corrosion, sulfate deposits and dirt. Repair or replace damaged cables or clamps.
Step 6: Install the new battery. Position it correctly in its mounting location, then tighten the hold-down clamp to protect it against vibration and movement.
Step 7: Connect the positive cable. First connect the positive (+) cable to the positive battery terminal and tighten its clamp. Step 8: Connect the negative cable. Finally, connect the negative (−) cable to the negative terminal and ensure that the connection is secure.
Step 9: Final check. After installation, check that all clamps and connections are secure and start the vehicle. Alternator charging voltage should be within the standard range, usually 13.6–14.4 volts, to confirm correct charging system operation.

A car battery’s capacity should follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation. A slightly higher capacity generally causes no problems if the battery’s physical dimensions, voltage and technical specifications are compatible, and may even help vehicles with additional electrical equipment. However, a much higher capacity does not necessarily improve vehicle performance or extend battery life. In some circumstances, especially in vehicles used mainly for short journeys, the battery may not have enough time to charge fully. If this continues, it can lead to a lower state of charge, plate sulfation and a shorter service life. In addition to capacity, cold cranking amps (CCA), dimensions, battery technology and terminal layout must match the manufacturer’s recommended specifications. The best choice is therefore a battery with the capacity and specifications recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

If your car has advanced electrical equipment, you can use our experts’ free consultation service at 09690 to select the right battery precisely.

Car batteries are highly recyclable: up to approximately 99% of the components of a lead-acid battery can be recycled. Proper recycling not only prevents toxic and hazardous substances from entering the environment, but also reduces the need to extract raw materials, making a significant contribution to conserving natural resources.

When you buy a new battery, most authorised sellers and official dealers accept the old one and deduct its value from the new battery’s price based on its condition and capacity. This is economical for consumers and ensures that old batteries enter the recycling stream. Battery sellers pass the collected batteries to representatives, who then send them to specialist recycling centres. There, batteries are processed industrially and reusable materials are recovered. This is one of the automotive industry’s most successful examples of a circular economy and has a very positive effect on reducing environmental pollution.

As part of its social and environmental responsibility, Sepahan Battery also collects worn-out batteries from consumers and sends them into industrial recycling.

A car battery weakens over time. Recognising the end of its service life in time can prevent unexpected breakdowns and extra costs. The most important signs are grouped below:
Starting performance symptoms
Sluggish or slow cranking: If the engine takes longer than usual to start, especially in the morning or after several hours off, the battery is likely to be weak.
Repeated clicking when starting: A succession of clicks without the engine turning usually indicates low voltage or a poor connection.
Electrical symptoms while driving
Dim lights or flickering dashboard lighting: Voltage fluctuations caused by a weak battery or alternator.
Battery warning light on the dashboard: If it stays on after starting, the battery and charging circuit should be checked.
Physical signs on the battery itself
Corrosion or rust on the battery terminals: This impairs current transfer.
A bulging or swollen case: Caused by overcharging or excessive heat, this indicates serious damage.
Battery state of charge
You can assess the battery’s state of charge with a digital voltage tester:
Above 12.5 volts: Healthy
12–12.4 volts: Weak; needs charging
Below 12 volts: Possible serious failure or full discharge
Battery age
Even without the above signs, a battery’s normal life is 2–3 years. Hot climates or frequent urban use, including heavy traffic and repeated starts, shorten this period. Checking the production date on the battery label or warranty card helps you judge the replacement time more accurately.
If you notice any of these signs, it is best to have the battery checked and replace it if necessary.

Batteries are vital components in many electronic devices, vehicles, industrial equipment and energy storage systems. Even if a battery appears to work well, failing to charge it regularly can greatly shorten its useful life.
Reasons why regular charging matters:
Preserving battery life: Insufficient charging causes internal plate sulfation, reducing battery capacity.
Preventing knock-on damage: A weak battery places greater strain on the alternator and may damage other electrical system components.
Better performance in demanding conditions: A fully charged battery is more reliable in cold weather, heavy traffic and when electrical equipment such as air conditioning, audio systems and lights is in use.

1. Trading in the old battery: Returning the previous worn-out battery when buying a new one can reduce the final price.
2. Battery capacity: The higher the capacity in ampere-hours (Ah), the higher the price.
3. Production date: More recently manufactured batteries usually cost more because they will have a longer useful life.
4. Brand and build quality: Established, reputable brands offering better quality and after-sales service have higher prices.

1. Suitable capacity
Choose the capacity in ampere-hours recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. A higher capacity is only appropriate in special circumstances, such as installing a powerful audio system or additional electrical equipment, within permissible limits and with specialist advice.
2. Battery dimensions and size
The battery’s physical dimensions must match the space in the vehicle’s battery compartment and fit it exactly. An unsuitable size can cause vibration, short circuits or damage to the body.
3. Battery type
For conventional vehicles, a sealed or serviceable battery is sufficient. Start-Stop batteries, however, offer good performance and high resistance to repeated engine stopping and starting, making them ideal for vehicles with a start-stop system.
4. Climate
In temperate or hot climates, choosing a battery with suitable technology that is compatible with the ambient temperature is particularly important.
5. Battery production date
Avoid buying batteries with old production dates: their life begins at manufacture, even if they have not been used.

If the vehicle will not be used for a long time, more than 4 days, it is advisable to disconnect the negative terminal to prevent electrical loads from gradually draining the battery.
The charging system should operate within the correct voltage range, around 13.6–14.4 volts. A faulty alternator regulator can overcharge the battery and shorten its life.
Regularly check terminals and cable clamps for corrosion or external sulfate deposits. Clean connections improve current transfer.
Battery power decreases in very cold weather. If possible, keep the vehicle in a sheltered location or at a moderate temperature.
The battery must be firmly secured in place. Excessive vibration can damage internal components and reduce its life.
For serviceable acid batteries, regularly check the electrolyte level and top up with distilled water if it falls.
Avoid prolonged or repeated cranking. If the vehicle does not start, wait a few minutes before trying again. If the problem persists, check the starter motor, alternator and battery.
Prevent complete discharge. Deep discharge causes plate sulfation and permanent loss of capacity.
Never connect the positive and negative terminals together: this causes a severe short circuit and a risk of fire or explosion.
When removing the battery, disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive. When installing it, connect the positive first, then the negative.
Keep the battery surface clean and dry. Moisture and dirt can cause current leakage and terminal corrosion.
If deposits or corrosion appear on the terminals, clean them with water and a small amount of baking soda, then dry them.
For non-sealed, serviceable batteries, ensure the caps are securely closed to prevent electrolyte evaporation or leakage.

Sulfation is one of the main factors shortening the life of lead-acid car batteries. It occurs when stable, hard lead sulfate crystals form on the lead plates and prevent proper electrochemical reactions.

During discharge in a lead-acid battery, lead sulfate naturally forms on both the positive and negative plates. Normally, when the battery is recharged, these sulfates convert back into the plates’ active materials and sulfuric acid.

However, if a battery remains partly charged or discharged for a long time, or does not receive a full charge, the lead sulfate crystals gradually grow and harden, covering the plate surfaces deeply and extensively. This is known as battery sulfation.

Factors that can cause sulfation include:

– Leaving the battery discharged or at a low charge for a long time

– Infrequent vehicle use or prolonged parking

– Frequent short journeys that do not allow full charging

– Low electrolyte levels exposing the plates to air

The lead plates inside a battery play the main role in producing electrical current. Chemical reactions between these plates and the electrolyte, sulfuric acid, generate electrical energy. Anything that reduces the plates’ active surface directly affects battery performance and life. As sulfation increases, the active surface decreases, reducing capacity and charge acceptance. At an early stage, appropriate charging may partially restore the battery. With severe sulfation, however, the plate structure suffers permanent damage, the battery can no longer retain a charge and must be replaced.

Lead-acid automotive batteries are generally manufactured in two main types: sealed or maintenance-free, and non-sealed, flooded or serviceable.

Non-sealed batteries have six separate capped compartments containing electrolyte, a mixture of water and sulfuric acid, whose level can be observed. Water evaporation during charging and due to ambient temperature may gradually lower the electrolyte level. It must therefore be checked periodically and topped up with distilled water when necessary. These batteries require regular servicing and maintenance by the user.

Sealed batteries do not provide access to their interior. Their lids are designed to return evaporated water to the battery, so electrolyte loss is very low and distilled water generally does not need to be added over the battery’s life. They also have a one-piece cover and a special design that returns evaporated electrolyte to the battery, making maintenance easier for the consumer.

Although many modern vehicles use sealed batteries that require less maintenance, checking the battery before a trip can prevent potential problems.

Before a trip, it is advisable to check:

  • Clean battery posts and terminals
  • No corrosion or deposits on the terminals
  • Tight clamps and connections
  • The battery is secured in its mounting position

Deposits or corrosion on the terminals can be cleaned with a toothbrush and a mixture of water and a little baking soda, after which the battery surface can be wiped with a damp cloth. If corrosion is extensive or the battery shows signs of weakness when starting the car, have it checked by a battery specialist or qualified mechanic.

UPS and Solar

UPS (uninterruptible power supply) batteries are designed for stable current delivery, long life and maintenance-free operation. They are used in critical applications where power outages could cause irreparable losses. Key applications include:

Data centres and IT facilities: Maintaining server operation and data storage;

Banks, office buildings and government or military centres: Powering security systems and communications equipment;

Hospitals, healthcare and emergency medical centres: Emergency energy for sensitive medical equipment;

Rescue, firefighting and emergency service equipment: Stable power in critical situations;

Residential and commercial complexes: General lighting and backup systems during grid outages;

Telecommunications equipment: Maintaining communications networks and telecom towers.

Industrial control systems: Preventing production line stoppages and damage to sensitive industrial machinery.

Sepahan Battery’s solar batteries are designed for applications requiring numerous charge and discharge cycles.

Their main applications include:

Photovoltaic (solar) systems: Storing energy produced by panels during the day for use at night or during cloudy periods, in homes, industry and solar power plants.

Hybrid wind and solar systems: Managing fluctuations in wind turbine generation and maintaining local grid stability.

Off-grid areas: Supplying radio towers, weather stations and agricultural water pumps in locations without mains electricity.

Solar lighting systems: Street and park lights powered by solar energy.

A gel battery is one of the most advanced types of VRLA batteries, which have self-regulating valves. Its main difference from conventional acid batteries is that silicate compounds are added to the electrolyte, a mixture of acid and water, turning it into a gel. This immobilises the electrolyte and prevents acid leakage.

Good cycle performance: Withstands repeated charging and discharging.

Low self-discharge: Gel electrolyte allows the battery to retain its charge for longer.

Maintenance-free: Fully sealed, with no need to add distilled water.

Thermal resistance: Better stability at different ambient temperatures.

Reduced leakage risk: Compared with the electrolyte in conventional lead-acid batteries, the gel structure in UPS and solar batteries significantly reduces electrolyte leakage and evaporation.

Their greater safety has two main reasons:

  1. Gel electrolyte: Unlike liquid-acid batteries, the risk of acid leakage is minimised if the case is punctured or broken.
  2. Safety valve system (VRLA): Self-regulating valves safely release gas if internal pressure builds up because of overcharging or a fault, preventing battery explosion.

As a pioneer in Iran’s battery industry, Sepahan Battery has localised gel technology for the first time in Iran using technical expertise and modern machinery. This technology is specifically used to produce solar and UPS batteries, ensuring stable performance in industrial and residential environments.

Although both use gel technology, their chemistry and plate design differ according to the type of operation:

Solar batteries are optimised for repeated charge and discharge cycles in renewable energy systems, whereas UPS batteries are optimised for float-charge operation. UPS batteries mainly remain fully charged, ready to supply a very high current for a short period if mains power fails, until mains power returns or a generator takes over.

The battery serial number is printed on its box and case. When you join the Customer Club, you also receive an electronic warranty certificate containing all the information you need.

The main advantage of Sepahan Battery products is the electronic warranty certificate. When buying other batteries on the market, you receive only a paper document confirming the validity of your warranty. If your battery fails and you do not have that paper with you, you will not receive warranty service. With a Sepahan Battery product and an activated warranty, however, you no longer need a paper certificate. Wherever you are in Iran, you can visit a Sepahan Battery service representative and use warranty services with the serial number engraved on the battery and the mobile number used to activate the warranty.

Another advantage is nationwide coverage. With 1,400 service representatives across Iran, you can access Sepahan Battery’s after-sales network in any city, regardless of where you bought your battery, by visiting one of its service representatives.

Your battery is also covered by a “double warranty” during the warranty period. If it fails within that period and a Sepahan Battery service representative replaces it, the remaining warranty on the old battery carries over to the new one. In other words, Sepahan provides warranty coverage twice for one battery during the original warranty period.

Because the warranty is registered under your name and mobile number, your information is stored in Sepahan Battery’s system. As the expiry date approaches, you receive a reminder to visit a service representative for a technical battery inspection.

Technology

Compared with conventional batteries, Fusion’s optimised lid design provides better electrolyte management. These features reduce the likelihood of electrolyte evaporation and acid leakage, giving the battery more stable performance in demanding operating conditions.

The Fusion battery has two sealed lids. They are designed to control electrolyte and vapour outlet paths effectively, returning much of the evaporated electrolyte to the battery. This design helps reduce evaporation and prevent leakage. However, its openings are also designed so that they can be opened to add distilled water when intensive operation and harsh weather cause evaporation.

Fusion’s flame-arresting filters prevent sparks or flames from entering the battery. This adds an important layer of safety and reduces potential risks under different operating conditions.

This battery is specifically designed for heavy- and medium-duty vehicles and delivers reliable performance under demanding conditions, greater vibration and varied climates.

Fusion is an innovative product in Sepahan Battery’s Orbital portfolio, developed to manage electrolyte evaporation better and improve battery performance and effectiveness in heavy- and medium-duty vehicles.

These batteries are specifically designed for hot-climate regions, offering more stable performance and a longer service life than conventional batteries at high temperatures.

High temperatures increase electrolyte evaporation, concentrating the acid and consequently accelerating corrosion and reducing battery life.

By optimising the battery’s internal structure, this technology prevents service life from shortening at high temperatures and improves performance in hot conditions.

Reduced water consumption, less grid corrosion at high temperatures, improved performance in hot conditions and greater battery stability are among the technology’s main advantages.

Vehicles with start-stop systems need batteries that can withstand frequent engine shutdowns and restarts. These vehicles generally use batteries with Start-Stop technology, designed for a greater number of starts, rapid charging during short stops and a longer service life.

No. Using a conventional battery in a vehicle with a start-stop system is not recommended. These vehicles need batteries designed for repeated starts, continuous charging and discharging, and operation at a partial state of charge. Conventional batteries often cannot withstand these conditions and may lose performance or fail within a short time.

No. “Maintenance-Free” means the user does not need to add distilled water or service the battery internally. It does not mean that no checks of any kind are required.

To maintain optimal performance and extend battery life, periodic checks are recommended. These include verifying that the vehicle’s charging system, or alternator, works correctly, checking that terminals and connections are clean and secure, and monitoring the battery’s general condition.

These simple actions can prevent performance loss, premature failure and potential problems in the vehicle’s electrical system.

Convenience and peace of mind: After installation, the battery usually needs no inspection or water top-up for the rest of its service life.

Greater safety: Acid leakage and acid vapour release are less likely than with older batteries with removable caps.

Ease of use: A suitable option for people who do not wish or are unable to service their battery regularly.

Gel is a special type of electrolyte used in industrial batteries. The fundamental difference between gel and conventional batteries is the physical state of their electrolyte, or acid. This technology combines acid with silica powder instead of using liquid acid, giving the electrolyte a gel-like consistency. This intelligent structural change completely eliminates the risk of acid leakage and water evaporation. As a result, resistance to repeated charge and discharge cycles rises dramatically, substantially increasing battery life and durability.

Sepahan Battery is proud to be the first manufacturer of this advanced technology in Iran.

A solar battery stores energy generated by solar panels. With a charge controller, it stores energy during the day and supplies electrical loads, after conversion by an inverter, when sunlight is insufficient, such as at night or on cloudy days.

A UPS battery, by contrast, is designed to provide emergency power during sudden outages or severe voltage fluctuations. As part of a UPS system, it must supply sensitive equipment, such as computers, servers and medical or industrial equipment, with the necessary energy in the shortest possible time and without interruption.

The secret lies in new production-line innovations and a unique internal design intended for long-life applications. Upgraded internal plate structures and more advanced raw materials increase battery resistance and significantly extend service life. This means you can use your battery for longer without worrying about premature failure.

Sepahan Battery’s gel-technology batteries are mainly used in solar energy storage systems and uninterruptible power supply systems, or UPS. They are designed to provide stable power during outages or to store energy generated by solar panels.

Gel batteries are suitable for solar energy storage because they are designed for successive charge and discharge cycles, have low self-discharge and maintain stable performance in harsh environmental and temperature conditions.

Gel batteries provide reliable performance and good efficiency in UPS systems thanks to their long life in float-charge operation, improved safety from their valve-regulated lead-acid construction, and stable performance during power outages.
