Below is the breakdown of the different production cells within SBIC production facility:
The lead grids are made in different shapes and sizes, in the form of panels, each including 2 grids.
In this process lead is casted to make strips of different sizes.
The strip coils are then used for production of over three million batteries annually using expanded metal technology.
Several machines included in this section are able to produce over 65 tons of lead oxide within 24 Hr. This product is used to make the paste required for battery plate production.
Positive and negative pastes are provided to be placed on the panels through mixing lead oxide, sulfuric acid, distilled water and some additives. The product is passed through a special oven to decrease the humidity and then is sent to the curing chambers for further chemical reaction and paste-grid bonding.
The lead strip coil is opened and moved inside the performer machine. It is then pulled to the sides and expanded, and as the punched strip moves through the pasting machine, a layer of paste covers it up. Then it goes into the divider and the strip is cut into separate plates and moves through the oven to decrease its humidity. Finally the plates are piled in the stacker machine and then stored in the curing chambers. This is a continuous procedure to make enough plates to be used for over 3 million batteries per year.
The out-coming plates of the two pasting machines are sent to the curing chambers to be kept in certain heat and humidity conditions, to complete the chemical reactions and bonding.
The panels made by grid casting technology are charged. washed, dried, and cut to two separate plates. Batteries with dry charge plates are dispatched from the factory without electrolyte. The electrolyte can be added to these batteries, when they are to be installed in the car.
Various battery types with different capacities and dimensions are assembled by modern-automatic machineries. Several tools are designed to assemble batteries from 50 AH up to 220 AH capacity.
The facilities in this section are able to charge over 9000 batteries of different types every day.
Approximately one hundred thousand liters of demineralized water is produced every day. Demineralized water is needed to be used in different machines in the plant and in preparing acid. The extra demineralized water is sent to the market.
The sulfuric acid with 98% purity is purchased and diluted to be used for various types of batteries before they start the charging cycles. The extra diluted acid is sent to the market.
